Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care at Uppingham Hung Yen: The Heart of Our School

Pastoral care is a responsibility shared by our entire community. Every staff member has a pastoral role, from teachers and house parents to nurses, counsellors and support staff. Our "network of care" thoughtfully and kindly supports each student throughout their education. We provide a comprehensive support network that helps pupils navigate the exciting challenges of growing up. Our family-orientated environment fosters constant, positive interaction between pupils and adults, building a culture of mutual care, respect and trust.

Structures for Support and Growth

Our pastoral structures provide clear, consistent guidance and a safety net for every student.

  • The House System
The heart of our pastoral community, where each pupil belongs to a smaller, supportive family within the larger school. Dedicated House Parents and tutors offer daily guidance and advocacy.

  • Clear Expectations
Our disciplinary systems are integral to our pastoral support, providing pupils with understandable boundaries that promote security, responsibility and respect for others.

  • Proactive and Compassionate Approach
We strive to address concerns before they arise through open communication and observation, while always being ready to provide compassionate and expert care when it is needed most.
