Strong foundations
for growing minds
Our Junior School offers a vibrant beginning to your child's educational journey, from the first days in our Foundation Stage classes to the upper years of Junior School. Every school day is designed to be exciting, full and varied, with the core aim of helping your child to grow into a confident, articulate and accomplished person. We provide a nurturing yet challenging environment where our highly qualified teachers support pupils to reach their full potential.
Guided by the English National Curriculum and enriched by an international outlook, our innovative approach blends intellectual challenge with hands-on, skills-based learning. We tailor learning to each child’s needs and interests, encouraging them to take ownership of their progress, develop emotional intelligence, and apply their knowledge in meaningful, real-world contexts. We nurture reflective, motivated and socially responsible young people who are excited about learning – to be well-prepared and inspired as they embark on Senior School and beyond.
A Joyful Beginning
Foundation Stage provides a joyful, nurturing, and inspiring start to each child's learning journey, designed to reveal a world of wonder from the first day. Following the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, our personalised curriculum is delivered by fully qualified and experienced teachers. We focus on developing the whole child through a balance of structured learning and purposeful play that captures their natural curiosity.
We support their development across seven key areas:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social, and Emotional Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Through rich experiences and guided discovery, children develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our Learning Principles
Our approach is carefully crafted around how young children learn best:
Playing and Exploring
Children learn through hands-on experiences, curiosity, and imaginative play in environments designed to stimulate discovery.
Active Learning
We foster persistence, concentration, and pride in achievement, encouraging children to become motivated and resilient learners.
Creating and Thinking Critically
Children are supported to develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and independent thinking from an early age.
Holistic Development
We nurture growth across the Prime Areas (Communication, Physical, and Personal Development) and Specific Areas (Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts) for a fully rounded foundation.
Individual Growth
Every child is unique. Learning is tailored to individual needs, interests, and strengths, ensuring each child feels valued and supported.

The Classroom Experience
A Typical Day in Foundation
Each Foundation Stage day is carefully structured to balance routine, exploration and joyful learning. Children begin the day with a warm welcome and a calm settling-in period, helping them feel safe and ready to learn. Mornings include a mix of teacher-lead activities and child-initiated play, focusing on early reading, phonics, number skills, communication, and creative expression.
Throughout the day, children explore both indoor and outdoor learning environments, developing physical skills, social confidence, and independence. Circle time brings pupils and educators together each day, with music, stories, and reflections to help build language, listening, and emotional awareness. Healthy snacks, lunch, and rest times are also an important part of the day, supporting wellbeing and positive routines.
By the end of each day, children leave feeling happy, confident and proud of what they have achieved.
