Uppingham Vietnam welcomes Ms. Barbara Matthews, MBE to join Board of Directors. Ms. Barbara Matthews, MBE is currently the Chair of Trustees at Uppingham School as well as the Executive Dean for Culture at Nottingham Trent University.

Uppingham Vietnam welcomes Ms. Barbara Matthews, MBE to Board of Directors.
Barbara Matthews MBE is the Chair of Trustees at Uppingham School as well as the Executive Dean for Culture at Nottingham Trent University. Barbara was the first female pupil at Uppingham School in 1973.
Barbara studied at Durham University and City University, London. She is currently Executive Dean for Culture at Nottingham Trent University, having previously been their head of the College of Art, Architecture, Design and Humanities and pro-vice chancellor (Culture). Prior to this, she was pro-vice-chancellor and dean of Arts, Design and Humanities at De Montfort University. Barbara spent six years at Arts Council England where she held the posts of director, theatre and interim executive director, arts, with responsibility for policy and strategy development. Barbara was executive director of the Royal Court Theatre and earlier in her career produced the work of international theatre company, Cheek by Jowl. She also has experience of festival programming and West End theatre production.
In 1993, she was honoured with an MBE for services to the arts.
